Dawson Construction asked MRV to complete renovation design for their new headquarters located in Juneau. Dawson acquired an old metal building seeing potential and approached MRV on making it a reality. The renovation brings together the Dawson yard, prefabrication shop and office together on one property. The building includes office space, large conference rooms, and an additional Training and Development room. The attached yard offers tools and materials storage,
prefabrication capabilities and additional support for Alaska projects. Structurally, the building remained the same, with only the exterior canopies added as structural elements. Interior renovation included a layout to work with existing floor framing. Wood structural framing was required left exposed as a builder aesthetic. Glass partitions give openness to the warm wood interior.
