Atsaq Place helps address a vital community need by creating 24 permanent residences for individuals overcoming homelessness. Through an innovative approach, the design integrates the new housing component with the existing Bethel Winter House shelter, capitalizing on shared support facilities and an existing elevator core. The shared use optimizes operational efficiencies and staffing requirements while maintaining distinct and secure environments for each use.
The apartments prioritize privacy and autonomy. Each unit features a sleeping area, living space with seating, kitchen and storage – fostering independence while providing a supportive environment. Atsaq Place is designed to provide a stable foundation for residents to rebuild their lives with comfort, support, and respect.
MRV worked with a talented design team including RESPEC and BBFM engineers. We worked closely with local contractor AMW Construction in a design-build approach, keeping the project on schedule and on budget.
