Colter joined MRV in 2022 after graduating from Washington State University with a Masters in Architecture. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in 2012 with an emphasis in photography at Montana State University and upon graduation entered the US Navy. His photography is featured in The Experimental Darkroom by Christina Z. Anderson.
Colter appreciates design that engages the site around it and believes that architecture should harmonize with the site it sits on. He utilizes his photographic knowledge to influence his architectural designs, noting that the connection between photography and architecture is stronger than what is immediately obvious. Colter is also interested in the integration of building technologies in design that can better help the environments we spend the most time in- indoors.
Colter grew up in the mountains of Montana, one mile from the Northeast gate of Yellowstone National Park. He spends most of his free time fishing and hiking.
