Sealaska Heritage, Walter Soboleff Building
Named in honor of venerated community elder Dr. Walter Soboleff, the new facility for Sealaska Heritage occupies one of the most prominent formerly unbuilt sites in downtown Juneau. The new, three-story building serves as a research and cultural center for southeast Tlingit and Haida cultural initiatives. Primary spaces include a historically modeled ceremonial room, a changeable exhibits area, artist workspaces, a gift shop for native artisans, a learning center, climate controlled archives and museum storage areas, and office spaces for the Institute's administrative staff.
